The shoe on the carpet
Footwear News' close-up shows the whole idea in one frame: a pale rose satin pump with a long pointed toe and a needle heel, sitting under a hem of crystals and dangling beads on a navy carpet. Satin under crystal is a soft surface under a hard one, and it is why the shoe reads as expensive even though the shape is the most classic pump there is.

Why there is no under-$50 twin this time
Ruby's rule is under $50 when under $50 exists. Here it does not. The nude patent pumps are the right shape and the wrong material, and on a split screen the shine gives them away.
